SGF is designed for schools, clubs, businesses and any setting.

It is designed to be simple for everyone to use.

To be awarded the SGF Safe Silver Mark, there are eight requirements you need to have in place (nine if you are a charity)

We hope your orgnaisation has them all in place. Some will have them: for example schools and professional sports. But if you haven't - that's fine, we will help you get it all sorted out before awarding the mark.

How to report to the police

If there is genuine threat to life or limb OR an active crime is taking place, call 999. For all other incidents, call 101. You can also report incidents online via the police constabularies website.

Requirement 9- Is your club registered with the charity commission?

If so, there are three extra requirements you’ll need to fulfil. 

  1. Risk assessments must be in place for anyone your charity interacts with including the sites you are based out of. 
  2. Staff must be protected by having policies for whistle blowing, discrimination and harassment. 
  3. Link trustee and safeguarding as a standing item on the board agenda.
