SGF Quality Mark is designed for any organisation, school. education provider business, sole trader, or charity that works or interacts with children.

No. You don’t need to ask your National Governing body.

You are responsible for your club’s safeguarding system - your NGB has expectations of how you should do this and will support you to do it.

The requirements are designed to work globally so no matter where you are SGF Silver Quality Mark will help you keep kids safe.

Just fill in the form. Tell us which you don’t have and which you do and we will help you get everything in place.

No.

It shows that the accredited organisation has a range of good safeguarding practices in place which should keep children safe.

Once accredited you can display the badge for up to 2 years on your website and on your emails. You can also display it around your club. After 2 years this licence must be renewed.

As soon as you are accredited, we will display your logo on our “Accredited Organisations” page. We will shout this out at least once on our social media feeds

We work on the basis that you have told us that the requirements are in place. We will contact you to check at least three of the requirements.

At least 3. We might ask you to send us some of your documents. One of us could call you to discuss for example how you engage parents, or it might be a combination of these.

We will keep a record of what we check.

We will seek payment of any unpaid amounts and we will require you to remove any logo provided by us if your payment is more than 30 days late.

Of course - just leave us a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

We will contact you a month before your license runs out and re-check your practices.

We are working on these with governing bodies and corporations. The expectation will be that these will be awarded based on a much broader set of safeguarding requirements.

Requirement 9- Is your club registered with the charity commission?

If so, there are three extra requirements you’ll need to fulfil. 

  1. Risk assessments must be in place for anyone your charity interacts with including the sites you are based out of. 
  2. Staff must be protected by having policies for whistle blowing, discrimination and harassment. 
  3. Link trustee and safeguarding as a standing item on the board agenda. 
You need to have all 8 of the requirements in place before applying for the SGF Quality Mark. As you don’t currently have this one just contact Antonia and she’ll help you get this in place using this form.
